The Porirua Hospital Museum: history of over 170 years
The Porirua Hospital Museum and Resource Centre is housed in F-Ward, built in 1909 as part of the Porirua Hospital campus. It records the history of the development of mental health services in New Zealand from what can be considered their inception in 1844.
The Friends of the Porirua Hospital Museum welcome visitors each Tuesday from 1.00-4.00 pm (excluding public holidays) or at other times by arrangement.
